Why Linux lost share

The slower growth in Asian smartphone sales appeared to be linked to the 16.1 percent decline in Linux-based smartphone shipments year over year. During Q2, Linux smartphone sales were still dominated by shipments of older Motorola Linux phones into the Asian market, Gartner said, with newer Motorola smartphones such as the A1600 hitting the Asian channel quite late in the quarter.
